Repairs to the Kola waterline are now complete.  There will be no water shut-off tomorrow, Friday, July 29th.

Thank you to the residents of Kola for your cooperation.

July 27, 2016

Utility Department workers will be shutting off the Kola water system to complete repairs to the Kola line. This shutdown will affect everyone on the Kola water system and will begin Thursday, July 28th at 10:00 a.m. until approximately 6:00 p.m.. Water will be turned off again at 9:00 am on Friday July 29th until the repair is completed.

Residents are encouraged to have a supply of water on hand and please shut off the breaker to your hot water tank to prevent damage. You may notice some discoloration when the water is turned back on; letting the water run for a few minutes will rectify this problem.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, please call the municipal office at (204) 748-1239 with any questions or concerns.

To: Ward 2, Wallace Water System users.

Please find attached a Public Utilities Board (PUB), Notice of Application, for the Wallace Water System Revised Water Rates.

rate study was ordered by the PUB in Board Order No. 78/14, and follows PUB guidelines for all municipal utilities to file a study every three years. The most recent rate study for the Wallace Water System was completed in 2012.

This rate review has been completed by an independent consultant, Gerald Barron, who has 30 plus years of rate study experience with the Manitoba Public Utilities Board.

The Wallace-Woodworth, Wallace Water System (Ward 2) has incurred deficits due to increased operational expenses and changes in the Public Sector Accounting Board Accounting (PSAB) requirements and the need to now show amortization of all capital assets of the water utility.

The details of the municipality’s application are available for review at the RM of Wallace-Woodworth office in Virden, located at the junction of PR 257 and PTH 83 and also online

It remains our goal to provide high quality potable water to the users while maintaining full cost recovery for the system.

If you have any concerns contact the PUB as per the attached notice, or for further information or clarification feel free to contact Steven Bray, Utility Manager at 1-204-748-1239.

Sincerely yours,

Steven Bray, C.E.T.

June 3, 2015

I would like to thank all RM of Wallace-Woodworth, Ward 2 (Wallace) water system costumers for their co-operation with the Utility’s request to no use water during the June 2nd and 3rd transfer of power at booster stations, 1, 2, & 3. The transfer (performed by HB Construction and supported by the Utility Department’s staff) was successful. This delay in service was necessary to become closer to completing the hook-up and soon to be commissioned diesel back-up generators at these particular booster stations. These back-up diesel generators will ensure that these booster stations will remain operational even if there is a loss of hydro-electric power, further securing the safety of the system and the drinking water.

Sincerely yours,
Steven Bray, C.E.T.

RM of Wallace-Woodworth

May 28, 2015

The R.M. of Wallace-Woodworth requests the users of the Wallace Water System to NOT use ANY water on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 between 7:00 pm and 3:00 am the next morning, and during the afternoon of Wednesday, June 3, 2015 between 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

It is critical that this is followed during these times, as the Booster Stations providing pressure to the system will be individually shut down. This shutdown will enable the electrical change over to hook-up the new back-up generators. These back-up diesel generators will enable the water system to always be operational (pressurized) during a loss of electrical power.

Your co-operation is appreciated.
