What is voting by Sealed Envelope Ballot?

Voting by Sealed Envelope Ballot is a provision by which a voter can make application to receive an election ballot package delivered to them. The voter then marks the ballot and returns it in a sealed envelope to the Senior Election Official prior to the close of voting on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.

A voter is permitted to vote by Sealed Envelope Ballot if he or she:

  • is unable to go in person to a voting location; or
  • expects to be absent from the municipality on Election Day and the days of Advance Voting.

Requesting a Sealed Envelope Ballot

An application to vote by Sealed Envelope Ballot may be made:

  • by mail, email or fax by Friday, October 19, 2018, 5:00 p.m.

Application to Vote by Sealed Envelope Ballot (Link)

A voter making an application in-person will be provided with a Sealed Envelope Ballot package once the application is approved.

Persons applying by mail, fax or e-mail by Friday, October 12, 2018, will receive a Sealed Envelope Ballot package by mail.

Persons applying by mail, fax or e-mail between Saturday, October 13, 2018 and Friday, October 19, 2018, must make alternate arrangements to have the Sealed Envelope Ballot package delivered to them.

The voter must return the ballot to the Senior Election Official prior to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21st, 2018
