Changes to R.M. Facilitie

The Rural Municipality of Wallace-Woodworth is continuously monitoring the COVID-19 situation. Providing essential services remains our priority while protecting the health and well-being of our residents and employees. Social distancing is used to intentionally reduce close contact between people to try to stop the progression of COVID-19.

Facilities that remain closed to the public are: 

  • Wallace – Woodworth Offices: Virden, Elkhorn, and Kenton
  • Water Treatment Plants in Ward 1 and Ward 2
  • Public Works Shops in Elkhorn, Hargrave, and Kenton
  • Fire Stations – Kenton and Elkhorn

Subject to prior approval, ratepayers who wish to come and meet with municipal staff will have to phone Garth Mitchell, CAO at 204-748-1239 to schedule an appointment or Zoom Meeting.

Meetings 

Council has made the decision to suspend ALL face-to-face meetings of Council, Committees, and L.U.D.’s. Meetings will be conducted through electronic and conference call methods. NO delegations will be entertained at meetings during this suspension.

 Council will re-evaluate this directive with guidance of Provincial and Federal agencies. Any updates on the COVID-19 situation as it relates to R.M. facilities, services, and programs will be posted on the website. Updates will also be shared through the R.M.’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
